Joy
THE JOY OF THE LORD UPLIFTS AND BLESSES ME ALL DAY LONG.

WHEN IT seems that I have nothing to be joyful about, when I am tempted to give way to self-pity or depression, I am brought up out of these feelings by opening myself to the idea of joy. I may not feel joyful; but there is that in me which is my source of joy, which is my strength, which sustains me. The joy of the Lord is like a wellspring within me. It can never be depleted; it is always there, waiting to well up in me, to fill my heart, to overflow into my life.

I change the tenor of my thoughts and feelings through taking words of Truth and holding to them: "The joy of the Lord uplifts and blesses me all day long." I think about these words; I meditate upon them; I speak them silently and aloud.

I do not have to try to force joy; I do not have to pretend to be joyful. In Spirit I am joyful. The joy of the Lord is within me; it uplifts and blesses me.

"That my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."— JOHN 15:11.
